a) Leela Nag’s admission to the University of Dhaka in 1921 was significant because she became the first female student in the Department of English. Her enrollment broke patriarchal norms of that time. It marked the beginning of women's academic participation in higher education in Dhaka.
b) During her student life, Leela Nag took several initiatives to empower women. She formed the Dhaka Women’s Committee and raised funds for flood victims. She also established Deepali Sangha and a self-defense institute for girls to train women in activism and self-reliance.
c) Leela Nag actively helped society during political and social crises. She set up relief camps for the victims of the Noakhali riots in 1946 and for abandoned women and refugees during the Partition in 1947. Her efforts supported many people who were displaced and in distress.
