  Lion and mouse

Once upon a time, a lion was resting in the forest when a little mouse accidentally ran over his paw. The lion woke up and caught the mouse, ready to eat it. Terrified, the mouse begged, “Please let me go, and someday I will repay you.” The lion, amused by the idea of a tiny mouse helping him, decided to release it.

Short story



A few days later, the lion was trapped in a hunter’s net. He roared loudly, trying to escape. The mouse, hearing the lion’s cries, rushed to the scene and gnawed through the ropes with its sharp teeth. The lion was free!
The lion thanked the mouse and said, “You were right. Even the smallest friend can be of great help.” From that day, they became friends forever.


An honest woodcutter

Once, there was an honest woodcutter named Raju who lived in a small village. One day, while cutting trees by the river, his axe fell into the water. He became very sad because it was the only tool he had for work. Suddenly, a fairy appeared and offered him a golden axe. Raju refused, saying, "I only need my own axe." The fairy then showed him a silver axe, but Raju again refused. Finally, she gave him his old axe, and Raju smiled. Impressed by his honesty, the fairy rewarded him with the golden and silver axes. Raju returned to his village and continued to work hard, always remaining truthful and honest. His honesty made him rich, and he was loved by all.


The Dove and the Ant

One day, an ant was drinking water from a river. Suddenly, it slipped and fell into the strong current. Struggling to stay afloat, the ant cried for help. A dove sitting on a nearby tree noticed the ant’s trouble. The kind dove quickly dropped a leaf into the water. The ant climbed onto the leaf and floated to safety.
Later, a hunter came to trap the dove. Seeing this, the ant bit the hunter’s foot. The hunter screamed in pain, and the dove flew away. The ant and the dove became lifelong friends, teaching the value of kindness.


The Fox and the Grapes

One hot afternoon, a hungry fox wandered through a vineyard. He spotted a bunch of ripe, juicy grapes hanging from a vine. His mouth watered as he jumped to reach them, but they were too high. The fox tried again and again, but the grapes were just out of reach. Tired and frustrated, he finally gave up.
As he walked away, he muttered, "Those grapes are probably sour anyway."
The story teaches us that people often criticize what they cannot have, instead of accepting their limitations and trying harder.


A fox without tail

One day, a fox lost his tail in a trap. Ashamed, he decided other foxes should lose theirs too. He called a meeting and said, "Friends, tails are useless and make us slower. Let’s cut them off!"
But one wise fox replied, "You only say this because you lost your tail. If tails were so bad, why did you have one before?"
Hearing this, all the foxes laughed and kept their tails. The tailless fox felt embarrassed and left.
The story teaches us not to mislead others to hide our own shortcomings.


The Greedy Farmer/ A golden goose

Once, a farmer found a magical goose that laid a golden egg every day. He sold the eggs and became rich quickly. However, greed consumed him. He thought, “Why wait for one egg a day? I’ll get all the golden eggs at once!”
The farmer killed the goose, hoping to find a treasure inside. To his shock, there were no golden eggs—only an ordinary goose. He realized his mistake, but it was too late.
The farmer lost both the goose and the golden eggs. The story teaches us that greed often leads to loss and regret.


The Frogs and the Naughty Boys

One afternoon, some naughty boys were playing near a pond. They saw frogs swimming and decided to throw stones at them for fun. Many frogs got hurt, and some died.
An old frog came to the surface and said, "Boys, please stop! What is fun for you is life and death for us."
Hearing this, the boys realized their mistake. They felt ashamed and promised never to harm the frogs again.
The story teaches us to think about the impact of our actions on others and to treat all living beings with kindness.


The Liar Cowboy

Once, a young cowboy looked after sheep in a village. He often felt bored and decided to play tricks on the villagers. One day, he shouted, “Wolf! Wolf! Help!” The villagers ran to save him, but there was no wolf. The boy laughed, saying it was a joke.
A few days later, he repeated the same trick. The villagers came again but found no wolf. They were angry and stopped trusting him.
One day, a real wolf appeared and attacked the sheep. The boy cried, “Wolf! Wolf! Help!” But no one came, thinking it was another lie. The wolf killed many sheep.
The boy learned a lesson: no one believes a liar, even when they tell the truth.


A thirsty crow

On a hot summer day, a thirsty crow flew around in search of water. After a long search, it found a pitcher with some water at the bottom. The crow tried to drink, but its beak couldn’t reach the water.
The clever crow thought of an idea. It saw small stones nearby and began dropping them into the pitcher one by one. Slowly, the water level rose. After some effort, the water came close enough for the crow to drink.
The crow quenched its thirst and flew away happily.
The story teaches us that intelligence and hard work can solve even the hardest problems.


The Honest Woodcutter

Once upon a time, a poor woodcutter lived near a forest in Bangladesh. One day, while cutting wood by a river, his axe slipped and fell into the water. He was sad because he couldn’t buy another axe. Suddenly, a kind fairy appeared and asked what happened. The woodcutter explained honestly.
The fairy dived into the river and brought out a golden axe. "Is this yours?" she asked. The woodcutter said, "No, mine was made of iron." She then brought out a silver axe, but again he said no. Finally, she found his iron axe. The fairy was pleased with his honesty and gave him all three axes as a reward.The woodcutter lived happily ever after.


The Selfish Giant

Once, a giant had a beautiful garden where children loved to play. One day, he returned home and saw them. "This is my garden! Go away!" he shouted. He built a high wall to keep them out.
Without the children, the garden became lifeless. Spring stopped coming, and it was always winter. The giant felt lonely and sad. One morning, he heard laughter. Looking outside, he saw children playing through a hole in the wall, and spring had returned.
The giant realized his mistake. He tore down the wall and welcomed the children. The garden became lively again, and the giant was never lonely. He learned that sharing brings happiness.
From then on, the giant became kind and generous.


Two Friends and a Bear

Once, two friends were walking through a jungle. Suddenly, they saw a bear coming toward them. Scared, one friend quickly climbed a tree to save himself. The other friend didn’t know how to climb, so he lay on the ground and held his breath, pretending to be dead.
The bear came close, sniffed him, and left, thinking he was lifeless. When the bear was gone, the friend on the tree climbed down and asked, “What did the bear whisper in your ear?”
The friend replied, “It said not to trust friends who leave you in danger.”
Moral: True friendship is proven in difficult times.


Three Friends and a Bag of Gold

Three friends were walking through a jungle when they found a bag full of gold. Overjoyed, they decided to divide it equally. But greed took over.
One friend went to town to get food while the other two stayed back. The two waiting planned to kill him and take his share. Meanwhile, the friend who went to town mixed poison in the food to take all the gold himself.
When he returned, the two attacked and killed him. Then they ate the poisoned food and also died.
The gold remained untouched, teaching a lesson: Greed leads to destruction.

One day, a dog found a piece of meat and was very happy. As he was crossing a river, he saw his reflection in the water. Thinking it was another dog with a bigger piece of meat, he wanted that too.
Greedy, he barked to scare the "other dog." As he opened his mouth, the meat in his mouth fell into the river and was washed away.
The dog was left with nothing and felt very sad.
Moral: Greed can make you lose what you already have.


The Fox and the Crow

One day, a crow found a piece of cheese and sat on a tree branch to eat it. A clever fox saw the crow and wanted the cheese.
The fox said, “Oh, dear crow! Your voice is so sweet. Will you sing for me?” The crow felt proud and opened its beak to sing. As soon as it did, the cheese fell to the ground.
The fox quickly grabbed the cheese and ran away, laughing. The crow realized it had been tricked and felt foolish.
Moral: Beware of flattery; it can lead to loss.


Who Will Bell the Cat?

Once, the mice in a house lived in fear of a cat that often caught them. They held a meeting to find a solution.
One young mouse suggested, “Let’s tie a bell around the cat’s neck. The bell will ring when the cat comes, and we can escape!” All the mice cheered for the idea.
Then an old mouse asked, “But who will bell the cat?” Everyone became silent, as no one was brave enough to do it.
The meeting ended without a solution.
Moral: It’s easy to propose plans, but hard to execute them.


The Hare and the Tortoise

Once, a hare and a tortoise decided to race. The hare was proud of his speed and mocked the slow tortoise. The race began, and the hare quickly ran ahead. Seeing the tortoise far behind, the hare thought, "I can rest for a while." He lay under a tree and fell asleep.
Meanwhile, the tortoise kept moving steadily without stopping. Slowly but surely, he reached the finish line. When the hare woke up, he ran as fast as he could but found the tortoise already there, smiling.
The tortoise said, "Slow and steady wins the race." The hare felt ashamed and learned an important lesson.
Moral: Never underestimate others.


                  The Lion and Androcles

Once, a slave named Androcles escaped from his cruel master and hid in a forest. There, he saw a lion roaring in pain. Androcles noticed a thorn stuck in the lion's paw. Gathering courage, he gently removed the thorn. The grateful lion licked his hand and became his friend.
Later, Androcles was captured and thrown into a lion's den as punishment. To everyone's surprise, the lion did not harm him. It was the same lion he had helped! The people were amazed by the story and set Androcles free.
Moral: Kindness is never forgotten.


The Tiger, the Man, and the Wise Fox

One day, a tiger got trapped in a cage. A kind man passed by, and the tiger begged, "Please free me! I won’t harm you." The man felt sorry and freed the tiger. But once free, the tiger roared, "Now I’m hungry! I’ll eat you!"
The man pleaded for his life, and they asked a wise fox to decide. The fox pretended not to understand and said, "Show me how you were trapped." The tiger stepped back into the cage to demonstrate, and the fox quickly locked it.
The fox said, "Never trust a wild beast!" The man thanked the fox and left safely.
Moral: Be cautious about whom you trust.



The Crow and the Peacock Feathers

Once upon a time, a crow found some colorful peacock feathers on the ground. He had an idea to become as beautiful as a peacock. He stuck the feathers to his tail and went to join the peacocks.
The peacocks laughed at him. "You are not one of us," they said. Feeling sad, the crow returned to his flock. But the crows noticed his fake feathers and said, "You don't belong here anymore!"
The crow felt lonely and realized his mistake. He removed the peacock feathers and said, "It is better to be myself."

From that day, the crow was proud of being a crow and lived happily with his friends.

Moral: Be proud of who you are.

The Lost Necklace and the Wise Judge

A rich man’s wife lost her gold necklace. A few servants worked in that house. Naturally it was suspected that any one of the servants had stolen the necklace. Each of them was asked. But nobody confessed the guilt.

So, the master of the house lodged a complaint before the Judge. The judge asked all the servants to gather. He gave each a stick of equal length and said, “These sticks will grow by an inch if the thief keeps it.”

The next day, one servant's stick was shorter. The judge smiled and said, “This is the thief!” The servant had cut the stick, fearing it would grow.
The thief confessed, and the necklace was returned. The rich man thanked the judge, who taught everyone that honesty is the best policy.


The Wolf and the Crane

Once, a greedy wolf swallowed a large bone that got stuck in his throat. In pain, he asked for help. A kind crane came forward. The crane used its long beak to pull out the bone. The wolf felt better and was relieved."

Now, give me a reward," said the crane. The wolf laughed and said, "Be happy I didn’t eat you! That is your reward." The crane realized the wolf was ungrateful and flew away.

Moral: Never expect kindness from the wicked.

This story teaches us to be careful about whom we help.



The Goat and the Cunning Fox

Once, a thirsty goat came to a well to drink water. The goat saw a fox trapped inside. The goat asked, "What are you doing there, Mr.Fox?" The fox quickly replied, "I'm drinking water. The water of the well is sweet like honey. Come quickly and drink as much as you can."
Hearing this, the kind goat jumped in. But as soon as he did, the cunning fox climbed on the goat’s back and jumped out. Laughing, the fox said, "Next time, think before helping!"
The goat realized his mistake and said, "I should have been wiser."


Moral: Think before you act, and don’t trust everyone blindly.

This story teaches us to be careful and wise in life.
